Ensure compliance of all applicable Legislation & Regulations related to Health and Safety Management system.
Set objectives and targets to Eliminate/Control/Minimize Risks due to Health, Safety and Environmental hazards.
Impart appropriate Training to the employees and partners in progress on Health and Safety to enhance understanding on Health & Safety Management system.
Review Health & Safety Management System regularly to ensure its adequacy & effectiveness.
Ensure awareness of Health & Safety Policy amongst all Employees and Stakeholders.
Involve Employees and partners in progress for effective implementation of Health & Safety Management.
Integrate Health & Safety procedures and best practices in every operational activity.
Develop Employee skills effectively to promote Health & Safety in all Power stations.
Develop an attitude of 'Safety First' at all level.
Ensure availability of appropriate resources to implement Health & Safety policy of the company.
Communicate this policy to all stakeholders suitably and periodically review its relevance.
Make Safety as integral part of plant performance measure.
Ensure consultation & active participation of employees and partners in progress for promoting safety initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF EMPLOYEES
While responsibility for Establishment and Maintenance of best possible condition of works rests on all concerned in the Organization, for successful implementation of the Health & Safety Policy, all employees irrespective of rank and class
Should be conscious about Health & Safety requirement.
Should be Alert about Potential Hazards.
Should know and obey the Health Safety Rules/Procedure/ Codes of Practice.
Should use with care the tools/ Equipment/Health Safety Equipment/ Protective Clothing and keep them in good condition.
Should take an Active and Personal interest in Promoting Health & Safety at works.
Should actively participate in Awareness/Safety Training Programme.
Should lead by example to demonstrate right behavior and action promoting safety.
OBJECTIVES AND TARGET OF DPL
To strive for zero accident as well as zero mandays lost at our plants.
To impart safety training to every employees and partners in progress at least once in a year.
To conduct Safety Committee meeting once in a quarter.
Mock fire Drill to be conducted once in a quarter.
Emergency Response drill to be conducted once in a year.
Update and maintain all legal and statutory compliances.
Occupational Health Check up of all employees before commencement of work and once in a year.
