Main objectives

a) The Durgapur Projects Limited is committed to provide uninterrupted power supply to WBSEDCL to enable it to supply power to its consumers.

b) DPL committed to operate its Power Plant with optimum resources and solicit investment from State Government to keep pace with the accelerated demand of power in the State of West Bengal.

c) Government of West Bengal has set up The Durgapur Projects Limited on 06.09.1961.

d) West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission has been constituted on 31st March, 1999. The Commission is currently considering the tariff petitions filed by DPL and other power utilities in the State.

e) The primary objective of the Company has always been to sustain the business of Power Generation and its evacuation for subsequent supply in the State. In fact, presently the total installed capacity of the Company is 550 MW comprising Unit No.7 of 300 MW and Unit No.8 of 250 MW capacity.
